Responsible Gambling
Gambling can be addictive. These strategies don't guarantee profits. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
Bankroll Management
The most important aspect of sustainable betting is managing your money properly.
The Unit System
Divide your bankroll into units (typically 1-5% of your total). Never bet more than your predetermined unit size.
- Conservative: 1% per bet (100 units)
- Moderate: 2-3% per bet (33-50 units)
- Aggressive: 5% per bet (20 units)
Example
If your bankroll is $500 and you use a 2% unit size, each bet is $10. If you lose 10 bets in a row (it happens), you've lost $100 but still have $400 to continue.
Finding Value
Value betting means finding odds that are higher than the actual probability of an outcome.
How to Identify Value
- Estimate your own probability for each outcome
- Compare to the implied probability from odds
- Bet when your estimate exceeds the implied probability
Formula: Value = (Your Probability × Decimal Odds) - 1
If the result is positive, there's value in the bet.
Research Methods
Statistical Analysis
- Head-to-head records
- Recent form (last 5-10 matches)
- Map/champion statistics
- Player individual stats
Qualitative Factors
- Roster changes and chemistry
- Travel fatigue for LAN events
- Coaching staff changes
- Team motivation (already qualified, nothing to play for)
- Patch changes affecting playstyle
Live Betting Strategy
In-play betting offers opportunities but requires quick thinking.
- Wait for data: Don't bet immediately, gather information
- Watch momentum: Teams can shift momentum quickly
- Economy tracking: In CS2/Valorant, know when teams are on eco
- Avoid tilt betting: Don't chase losses in-play
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Chasing losses: Increasing bets after losing
- Parlay addiction: Multi-bets have worse expected value
- Favoritism: Betting on your favorite team regardless of odds
- Ignoring context: Not considering team circumstances
- Overconfidence: Betting too much on "sure things"
- No records: Failing to track and analyze your bets
Record Keeping
Track every bet to identify patterns:
- Date and event
- Teams and market
- Odds and stake
- Result and profit/loss
- Your reasoning for the bet
Review Regularly
Analyze your betting history monthly. Identify which games, markets, and bet types are profitable or losing. Adjust your strategy accordingly.
